The origins of anxiety
Acquired hypervigilance: you have been contaminated by the behaviour and attitude of one or both of your anxious parents .
Key take aways
Traumatic hypervigilance: you have gone through one or many events that have given you a feeling of insecurity and/or danger. Those experiences have left scares in your body and your mind that make you see the world as dangerous and unsafe.
The aim is to identify those feelings of danger and insecurity that we have gone through and go and calm the hypervigilance at its root. This is what we are going to work on in the next videos of the chapter: "How to heal anxiety".
